HGV Class 2 Driver – Refuse & Recycling

About the role

We are looking for a reliable HGV Class 2 driver to join our busy refuse and recycling collection team in Wandsworth. The role involves operating collection vehicles, supporting the loading crew and ensuring routes are completed safely and on time. Immediate start with the possibility of a permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily refuse and recycling collections safely and efficiently.
• Operate collection vehicles and machinery with full understanding of equipment.
• Assist with refuse loading duties when required.
• Use in‑cab technology and mobile devices as directed.
• Complete paperwork and collection records in real time.
• Perform daily vehicle and machinery inspections and report defects.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and equipment.
• Follow safe manual handling and lifting procedures.
• Deliver excellent customer service to the public and road users.
• Work in accordance with health and safety procedures and company policies.

Required profile

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• No more than 6 penalty points on licence.
• Willingness to assist with loading duties as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and hardworking.
• Flexible approach and willingness to undertake a variety of tasks.
• Previous waste management or refuse collection experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Clean driving licence desirable.
