HGV Class 2 Driver – Shunting – £18/hr – Dunstable

About the role

We are seeking experienced HGV Class 2 drivers to join a leading bakery’s busy yard in Dunstable. The role focuses on shunting duties, moving goods around the site to support production. Shifts are available both day and night on a 4‑days‑on, 4‑days‑off roster, paid at £18 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 2 vehicles to safely shunt pallets, raw materials and finished products within the bakery yard.
• Follow day and night shift schedules, working four consecutive days on site followed by four days off.
• Record driving times and activities using a tachograph card in compliance with regulations.
• Adhere to all health and safety procedures while working in a busy industrial environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the yard and report any issues to supervisors.

Required profile

• Full HGV Class 2 driver’s licence.
• Up‑to‑date Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
• Valid tachograph card.
• No more than six penalty points and no major endorsements or convictions.

Required skills

• Proficient operation of HGV Class 2 vehicles.
• Use of tachograph equipment for logging.
