HGV Class 2 Dustcart Driver – Full‑time

About the role

We are seeking a reliable, safety‑conscious HGV Class 2 Dustcart Driver to join the Council Waste and Recycling team in Chertsey. You will operate refuse collection vehicles on designated routes, ensuring our communities stay clean and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate council dustcarts on assigned collection routes.
• Perform daily vehicle safety inspections and report any defects.
• Collaborate with refuse loaders to complete scheduled collections efficiently.
• Comply with road traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and council policies.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and businesses.
• Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.

Required profile

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good knowledge of road safety and vehicle operation.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills and a positive team‑working attitude.
• Previous experience driving refuse collection vehicles is desirable but not essential.
