HGV Driver (C+E) – Spare Driver

About the role

As an HGV Driver (C+E) – Spare Driver you will operate hook‑lift trucks to move waste between FCC sites and third‑party facilities across Worcestershire and Herefordshire. The role is full‑time, five days a week (Wednesday to Sunday), and is essential to keeping our waste management operations running smoothly and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Drive HGV hook‑lift vehicles to service FCC and partner waste sites.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections, safety checks and report any defects.
• Secure loads in accordance with company procedures and transport legislation.
• Maintain accurate driver records and comply with all relevant regulations.
• Wear issued PPE/uniform and uphold high safety standards.
• Provide courteous service to colleagues, customers and the public.
• Assist with additional operational duties as required.

Required profile

• Valid C+E driving licence (clean licence preferred).
• Experience as an HGV driver; hook‑lift experience desirable but training is available.
• Good knowledge of the local area is advantageous.
• Reliable, flexible and safety‑conscious attitude.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work well in a team.
