HGV Driver Class 1 – £37k per annum

About the role

We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 driver to join our client’s team in the Manchester area. The role involves delivering goods within a 20‑mile radius, maintaining vehicle compliance and providing excellent customer service. It is a full‑time position offering a competitive salary of £37,000 per year.

Key responsibilities

• Operate HGV vehicles safely in line with road traffic laws and company procedures.
• Perform daily vehicle checks, report defects and ensure tachograph compliance.
• Deliver and collect goods efficiently within a 20‑mile radius of Manchester.
• Load and unload vehicles, securing goods correctly for transport.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and vehicle documentation.
• Provide professional customer service and represent the company positively on site.
• Keep vehicles clean, presentable and roadworthy at all times.

Required profile

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence held for at least 12 months.
• Previous HGV driving experience in a commercial transport environment.
• Good knowledge of road transport regulations and driver hours legislation.
• Strong commitment to health and safety procedures.
• Excellent time‑management, organisational and communication skills.
• Reliable, professional and customer‑focused attitude.
• Geographical knowledge of Manchester and surrounding areas.
