HGV Driver

About the role

DPD is looking for a reliable HGV Driver to join its national transport department, handling bulk collections between DPD sites and major customers across the UK. You will operate a modern fleet, ensure timely deliveries and represent DPD to dispatchers and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Execute nationwide collections and deliveries, focusing on HGV‑friendly locations.
• Manage trailer swaps and oversee live loading/unloading to keep the network moving.
• Use GPS and digital tachographs to plan routes and maintain 100% compliance.
• Maintain professional relationships with dispatchers and customers throughout the country.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and prioritize safe driving in all conditions.

Required profile

• Valid UK Class 1 (Category CE) licence with CPC and digital tachograph card.
• At least 6 months experience driving Class 1 vehicles.
• Excellent geographical knowledge of UK roads and a safety‑first mindset.

Required skills

• Proficient use of GPS navigation systems.
• Operation of digital tachograph equipment.
