HGV Driver / Loader

About the role

Join FCC Environment as an HGV Driver / Loader, responsible for safely operating a Class C vehicle to collect recycling and municipal waste across West Devon. You will support the crew with loading duties while adhering to legal, environmental and health & safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Drive a Class C vehicle to complete recycling and municipal waste collections.
• Assist the crew with loading and unloading waste containers.
• Ensure all loads comply with legal, environmental and health & safety regulations.
• Carry out pre‑use checks on vehicles and equipment to guarantee mechanical safety.
• Maintain professional communication with customers and colleagues.

Required profile

• Valid HGV Class C driving licence and Driver Qualification Card.
• Good communication skills and customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Safety‑conscious with adherence to procedures.
• Reliability, trustworthiness and knowledge of the West Devon area (advantageous).

Required skills

• Operation of Class C vehicles.
• Manual handling of waste loads.
