HGV Driver – Part‑time/Contract

About the role
This part‑time/contract position involves driving a dustcart for waste collection in Southwark and the surrounding South East England area. You will work closely with a loader to ensure efficient collection rounds while adhering to a flexible schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Operate a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) to collect waste from designated routes.
- Assist the loader with loading and manual handling tasks.
- Plan and plot daily routes to meet collection targets.
- Work beyond the contracted 2 pm end time when required to complete all rounds.
- Maintain clear communication within a small, settled team.
Required profile
- Proven experience as an HGV driver, preferably with a local authority or waste services company.
- Experience in loading and manual handling.
- Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a small team.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
