HGV Mechanic – Workshop-Based in Swindon

About the role

Pertemps is recruiting an experienced HGV Mechanic to join a busy, modern workshop in Swindon. The role involves maintaining, servicing and repairing heavy goods vehicles to keep them safe and road‑worthy, with opportunities for overtime and career development.

Key responsibilities

• Routine servicing and maintenance of HGVs
• Mechanical and electrical repairs
• Fault finding and diagnostics
• MOT preparation and inspections
• Brake, suspension and engine work
• Completing job cards and workshop paperwork accurately
• Ensuring all work meets safety and compliance standards

Required profile

• IMI Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
• Previous experience working on HGVs
• Full UK driving licence (HGV licence advantageous)
• Own basic toolkit preferred
• Reliable, hardworking and team‑oriented attitude
