HGV Refuse Collection Driver / Loader – Basingstoke

About the role

Join a dedicated team delivering refuse and recycling services across Basingstoke. You will operate an HGV to collect waste on a set schedule, ensuring a cleaner environment for the community.

Key responsibilities

• Operate HGV and loading equipment to collect refuse and recycling according to programmed routes.
• Adapt to interruptions such as road closures or weather, completing all assigned rounds.
• Use in‑cab technology for real‑time reporting, updates and performance tracking.
• Perform daily inspections and cleaning of machinery, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Engage with the public professionally, maintaining a positive image of the service.
• Report key performance indicators and progress to the line manager.

Required profile

• Valid HGV (Category C) driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification.
• Experience in refuse or recycling collection is advantageous.
• Strong commitment to safety, teamwork and customer service.
