About the role
Scania is offering a dedicated conversion programme for technicians from light‑vehicle, plant or agricultural backgrounds to become qualified HGV technicians. The programme combines on‑site mentoring at our Exeter facility with classroom training at the Scania UK Learning Academy.
Key responsibilities
- Shadow experienced Scania technicians on real HGV projects.
- Complete six training modules covering product knowledge, maintenance theory and inspection procedures.
- Participate in hands‑on workshops using Scania equipment.
- Achieve industry‑recognised IRTEC and Scania Roadside Assistance qualifications.
Required profile
- Current experience as a light‑vehicle, plant or agricultural equipment technician.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to heavy‑goods‑vehicle technology.
- Commitment to the fixed start date of 07/09/2026.

- Starting salary of £33,363.20 per year (£16.04 per hour).
