HGV Technician

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a manufacturer‑backed commercial vehicle workshop in Crayford, Kent. You will work in a modern, well‑equipped facility servicing a wide range of heavy commercial vehicles, ensuring high standards of safety and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Perform servicing, inspections, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using manufacturer diagnostic equipment.
• Repair engines, transmissions, braking, suspension, steering and drivetrain systems.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
• Conduct electrical fault‑finding and repairs on modern vehicle systems.
• Complete accurate job cards, inspection sheets and related paperwork.
• Identify additional repair needs and communicate them to the Workshop Controller.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.

Required profile

• Qualified HGV, Truck or Commercial Vehicle Technician with a recognised Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
• Proven experience working on modern HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a professional team.
• Full UK driving licence.

What we offer

• Competitive salary between £50,000 and £55,000 per year.
• Full‑time permanent role with Monday‑Friday shifts (6 am‑3:30 pm & 1:30 pm‑10 pm) and occasional half‑day Saturdays.
