HGV Technician – Newhouse DCW (4 on 4 off)

About the role

Scania is seeking an HGV Technician to join the Newhouse Distribution Centre West workshop in Motherwell. The position works a 4‑on‑4‑off shift (07:00‑19:00) and involves servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy commercial vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance on HGVs.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Carry out inspections and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Document work performed and maintain accurate service records.
• Participate in on‑site training and continuous development programmes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HGV, LCV or related vehicle technician.
• Relevant vocational qualifications in vehicle maintenance.
• Willingness to work the 4‑on‑4‑off shift pattern.
• Commitment to health and safety procedures.

Required skills

• Vehicle servicing of heavy commercial trucks.
• Mechanical repair of engines, transmissions and chassis.
• Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics.
