HGV Technician – Refuse Collection Vehicle Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a proactive HGV Technician to join our Aftermarket team, focusing on the maintenance and repair of refuse collection vehicles. You will work on‑site at customer locations, ensuring each vehicle meets the highest safety and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on chassis and mounted equipment.
• Service vehicles to VOSA standards and prepare them for MOT inspections.
• Complete body and chassis repairs in line with Department of Transport specifications.
• Maintain accurate records and enter job details into company systems.
• Liaise professionally with customers and work independently at customer sites.
• Follow health and safety procedures, conducting risk assessments as required.
• Undertake training to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance.
• Proven experience in commercial vehicle repair and servicing.
• Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including overtime.
