HGV Technician Supervisor

About the role

Veolia is seeking an HGV Technician Supervisor to lead the repair and maintenance of its fleet and third‑party vehicles. You will ensure that all vehicles meet factory and industry standards while supporting a safe and efficient workshop environment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems on HGVs.
• Conduct HGV MOT inspections, emergency roadside repairs and 4‑point MOT checks.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, timesheets and operational update sheets.
• Coordinate work allocation, contractor communications and tyre services.
• Perform weekly workshop inspections and manage job card processes.
• Oversee shift handovers, technician productivity and holiday/training schedules.

Required profile

• City & Guilds or HGV NVQ Level 3 in vehicle maintenance and repairs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks.

• Forklift licence (counter‑balance) – desirable

• Plant/RCV experience – desirable
• IRTEC‑approved electrical knowledge – desirable
