HGV Technician – Vehicle Maintenance & Diagnostics

About the role

Join Veolia’s Merton Workshop as an HGV Technician, responsible for keeping a diverse fleet of heavy‑goods vehicles operating safely and efficiently. You’ll work on both Veolia‑owned and third‑party equipment, applying your mechanical expertise across a range of systems.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and maintain Veolia fleet, third‑party vehicles and plant to manufacturer and industry standards.
• Run diagnostics using specialised equipment for hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Carry out HGV MOT inspections, preparation work and occasional roadside repairs.
• Complete accurate paperwork, time‑sheets and compliance documentation.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring personal and team safety.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter or HGV Technician.
• NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Qualification or equivalent.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements in a workshop environment.
• Willingness to obtain an IRTEC licence (training provided).
