HGV Trailer Technician

About the role

We are looking for an experienced HGV Trailer Technician to join a busy commercial vehicle repair workshop in Heywood. You will be responsible for keeping a range of HGV trailers safe, compliant and road‑worthy through routine servicing, fault diagnosis and repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance on HGV trailers.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on trailer systems.
• Prepare trailers for MOT inspections and ensure compliance.
• Accurately complete maintenance records and identify additional repair needs.
• Support the efficient operation of the workshop by collaborating with the team.

Required profile

• Previous hands‑on experience working on HGV trailers.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and fault‑finding ability.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• High attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.
• Experience preparing trailers for MOT inspections.
• Proactive approach to maintenance and repairs.
