HGV/LGV Class 1 Driver (C+E) – Full Time

About the role

The Bristol Port Company is seeking a reliable HGV/LGV Class 1 Driver (C+E) to join its logistics team. You will be responsible for moving plant, equipment and materials safely across the port estate, with training provided for specialised vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Operate C+E class vehicles in line with company procedures and road regulations.
• Transport plant, machinery and materials using low‑loader and skip lorries.
• Assist with positioning equipment and support mobile crane operations (training provided).
• Carry out daily vehicle checks, report defects and maintain accurate records.
• Secure all loads, ensure compliance with health & safety standards and wear required PPE.
• Maintain a clean, professional vehicle and working environment.

Required profile

• Full UK C+E (Class 1) driving licence held for at least 2 years.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• Good understanding of driver hours, tachograph regulations and road safety.
• Strong health & safety awareness and ability to work independently.
• Willingness to undertake specialist training on low‑loaders, skip lorries and mobile cranes.
