High Level Teaching Assistant (Full‑time Fixed‑term)

About the role

The Supply Register Ltd, in partnership with Step Academy Trust, is seeking a dedicated High Level Teaching Assistant to join Beddington Park Primary School for the full academic year starting September 2026. This full‑time, fixed‑term position focuses on supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) through one‑to‑one interventions and collaborative classroom work.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality one‑to‑one support for pupils with SEN, adapting learning activities to individual needs.
• Deliver planned interventions and learning activities to promote pupil progress.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities.
• Cover lessons and lead learning when required, in line with HLTA responsibilities.
• Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and give feedback to teachers and the SENCO.

Required profile

• HLTA qualification (essential).
• Previous experience as an HLTA in a UK primary school.
• Proven experience supporting children with SEN, including one‑to‑one support.
• Confidence in working with pupils who have a range of additional learning and behavioural needs.
• Strong communication and behaviour‑management abilities.
• Caring, patient, and flexible approach; able to work independently and as part of a team.
