High Voltage Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a High Voltage Engineer to maintain and improve the high‑voltage (HV) and low‑voltage (LV) electrical infrastructure at a leading heavy‑manufacturing site. The role involves both planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and driving continuous improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and upgrade HV & LV electrical systems across the site.
• Perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance activities.
• Diagnose faults on PLC, CNC and SCADA control systems.
• Develop and refine preventive maintenance (PPM) strategies to maximise reliability.
• Lead continuous improvement and energy‑efficiency initiatives.
• Support statutory inspections, electrical upgrades and maintenance planning.
• Collaborate closely with OEMs and the wider engineering team.

Required profile

• HNC/HND or recognised Electrical Engineering apprenticeship (Level 3 considered).
• Experience in heavy manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Strong electrical fault‑finding ability.
• Knowledge of HV & LV systems and switching activities.
• Familiarity with PLC, CNC and SCADA control systems.
• Passion for reliability, continuous improvement and safe working practices.
