Higher Learning Teaching Assistant

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive school in Brentwood from September. The role involves providing classroom support, covering lessons and contributing to the overall learning experience of pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver classroom support and cover lessons as required.
• Lead learning activities and manage classroom behaviour.
• Provide targeted interventions and support whole‑class teaching.
• Assist with the implementation of the National Curriculum.
• Maintain up‑to‑date safeguarding records and practices.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA in a UK school.
• HLTA status or relevant qualifications (desirable).
• Strong understanding of the National Curriculum.
• Current safeguarding training (issued within the last year, desirable).
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional child‑related references.
