Higher Level Learning Support Assistant – Term-time Only

About the role

OnlyFE is seeking a motivated Higher Level Learning Support Assistant to work on a term‑time basis. You will join a supportive team that values staff who help raise achievement for students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) across the college.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality learning support for SEND students in classrooms and workshops.
• Plan, deliver and assess targeted learning activities for individuals and small groups, particularly in English and Maths.
• Implement intervention strategies to aid emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement.
• Assist with the implementation and review of EHCPs, promoting independence and resilience.
• Monitor student progress and contribute to assessments, reports and reviews.
• Collaborate closely with teaching staff and support services to ensure inclusive practice.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of SEND, EHCPs and a range of learning needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and support students towards independent learning.

Required skills

• 5 GCSEs (Grades A‑C) including English Language and Maths or equivalent.
• HLTA status or a relevant Level 4/5 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent experience).

What we offer

• Pro‑rated salary between £30,246 and £32,006 per year.
• 37 hours per week across 38 teaching weeks (term‑time only).
• Two posts available within an award‑winning further education college.
