About the role
This full‑time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) position is part of a dedicated "Grow Your Own Teacher" programme. It is designed for experienced teaching assistants who want to progress toward Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) while gaining hands‑on classroom leadership experience.
Key responsibilities
- Lead whole‑class lessons in the teacher’s absence.
- Deliver targeted small‑group and intervention teaching.
- Support planning, preparation and assessment activities.
- Collaborate with senior staff to develop a personalised teacher‑training pathway.
- Contribute to the school’s inclusive and ambitious learning environment.
Required profile
- Current HLTA or graduate teaching assistant with classroom experience.
- Confidence in leading small groups and whole classes.
- Strong communication and organisational abilities.
- Clear ambition to complete teacher training and achieve QTS.
