Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Cover Lead) – Blackpool

About the role

We are partnering with a forward‑thinking Primary Academy in Blackpool to hire a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or Cover Lead for the 2026/2027 academic year. The role combines classroom leadership with cover duties across Reception to Year 6, providing a stable full‑year contract.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the classroom independently, delivering pre‑planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 during PPA time and staff absences.
• Deliver the ReadWriteInc Phonics programme to support literacy development.
• Run targeted small‑group interventions and adapt resources for pupils with diverse needs.
• Support the daily running of the school as the designated Cover Lead.

Required profile

• Hold a Level 4 HLTA qualification, a relevant degree, or QTS/ECT status.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a whole class with strong behaviour management.
• Commitment to work the full academic year (September 2026 – July 2027).
• Successful enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
