Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Dagenham (SEN Team)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join the SEN team of a vibrant primary school in Dagenham. The role involves supporting pupils with special educational needs across 1‑to‑1, small‑group and whole‑class settings, with an immediate start.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1‑to‑1 and small‑group interventions for pupils of varying abilities within the SEN ARP unit.
• Lead whole‑class teaching sessions, particularly in the absence of the class teacher.
• Collaborate with class teachers to design and implement schemes of work that promote inclusive learning.
• Run targeted intervention classes focused on mathematics and literacy.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and support the school’s safeguarding policies.

Required profile

• GCSE grades C or above in Mathematics, Science and English.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Proven experience teaching mathematics and literacy to whole classes.
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably within a SEN environment.
• Strong commitment to supporting pupils with special educational needs.
