Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Early Years (Wandsworth)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a thriving primary school in Wandsworth. The role is term‑time only and offers the chance to lead whole‑class learning and support early years pupils in a supportive, high‑achieving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead whole‑class lessons when required, delivering engaging and effective instruction.
• Provide targeted interventions and small‑group support for Nursery and Reception pupils.
• Collaborate closely with teachers across the school to maintain high standards of teaching and pupil progress.
• Organise and prepare learning resources, ensuring a proactive and enthusiastic classroom atmosphere.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

Required profile

• Proven experience in an Early Years setting (Nursery or Reception).
• Confidence to lead whole‑class teaching when needed.
• Strong organisational skills and a proactive attitude.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Required skills

• Experience delivering whole‑class and small‑group instruction.
• Ability to design and implement targeted learning interventions.
• Effective collaboration with teaching staff.
