Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Full Time (Thurrock)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a warm, thriving primary school in Thurrock on a full‑time basis starting September 2026. You will support teaching and learning across the whole school, covering classes and delivering engaging lessons.

Key responsibilities

• Cover Early Years to Year 6 classes during teacher PPA time, training and absence.
• Plan and deliver well‑structured lessons that maintain high standards of learning and behaviour.
• Lead small‑group and one‑to‑one intervention programmes in core subjects.
• Collaborate with teachers and the wider school team to support pupils of all abilities.
• Build positive relationships with children, staff and parents, contributing to a supportive community.

Required profile

• Hold HLTA status or have significant experience leading whole‑class teaching.
• Confident teaching across the primary age range.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Flexible, proactive and passionate about helping children achieve their best.
• Committed to creating an inclusive, engaging and positive learning environment.
