Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Full‑time, Huyton

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming secondary school in Huyton. The role starts on 26 September and involves supporting pupils aged 11‑16 to achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering high‑quality lessons across a range of subjects.
• Lead small‑group interventions and provide whole‑class cover when required.
• Offer one‑to‑one assistance to students needing extra help.
• Motivate and encourage students to stay focused and confident in their learning.

Required profile

• Available full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑3:30 pm during term time.
• HLTA status or equivalent experience in a secondary setting.
• Comfortable working with pupils aged 11‑16 across ability levels.
• Team‑player, flexible, reliable and passionate about supporting young people.

Required skills

• Experience supporting teaching and learning in a secondary school.
