Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary School

About the role

The school is seeking a motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join its primary team from September 2026. You will work closely with teachers and senior leaders to deliver high‑quality learning experiences across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned whole‑class lessons in the teacher’s absence.
• Lead small‑group and one‑to‑one interventions.
• Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Assist with assessment and monitoring of pupil progress.
• Support pupils with diverse learning needs and abilities.
• Promote positive behaviour and maintain high expectations.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff and parents to achieve the best outcomes.

Required profile

• Hold HLTA status or have significant experience in a similar role.
• Recent experience in a primary school setting.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Confidence delivering lessons across different year groups.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Passion for supporting children academically and personally.
• Flexible, proactive and committed to inclusive education.
