About the role
We are seeking experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) to support specialist SEN schools across East Kent. In this role you will deliver pre‑planned lessons and provide targeted assistance to pupils with a range of additional needs, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver pre‑planned lessons and activities when the class teacher is absent.
- Support pupils with Autism, SEMH, ADHD and complex needs on a day‑to‑day supply or long‑term basis.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, teachers and support staff across specialist settings.
- Promote a safe, engaging and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Required profile
- Experienced HLTA, Cover Supervisor or qualified teacher looking for flexible work.
- Proven experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
- Confidence in managing classroom behaviour and leading small groups or whole classes.
- Genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
- Flexible, reliable and able to travel across East Kent.
