About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in East Grinstead. The role starts in September 2026 and involves supporting teachers across lower KS2 classes, delivering interventions and helping pupils achieve their potential.
Key responsibilities
- Lead small‑group and one‑to‑one literacy and numeracy interventions.
- Deliver planned lessons in the teacher’s absence while maintaining classroom standards.
- Assist with planning, assessment and tracking of pupil progress.
- Support pupils with special educational needs by adapting resources and strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers to provide differentiated support.
- Uphold safeguarding, behaviour and inclusion policies.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a school setting, preferably as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with pupils, staff and parents.
- Commitment to an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
- Excellent organisational abilities and effective time management.
Required skills
- Literacy and numeracy intervention techniques.
- Knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) strategies.
- Classroom management and lesson delivery.
