Higher Level Teaching Assistant – KS1 & KS2

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Gravesend. The role covers both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, supporting pupils’ learning and helping to maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons and lead whole‑class learning when the teacher is absent.
• Support pupils across KS1 and KS2 in daily activities and learning tasks.
• Assist the class teacher in creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
• Help manage behaviour and promote positive interactions among students.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an HLTA or a similar teaching assistant role in a primary school.
• Proven ability to support pupils across both KS1 and KS2.
• Confidence delivering lessons and leading whole‑class activities.
• Excellent communication and behaviour‑management skills.
• Positive, flexible and proactive attitude towards supporting children and staff.
