About the role
This full‑time position is for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in a welcoming primary school in Bury, starting September 2026. The role supports pupils across the early years and key stages 1‑2, delivering lessons and targeted interventions.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver pre‑planned lessons when the class teacher is absent.
- Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group intervention to support individual learning needs.
- Assist pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 according to school requirements.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor and promote pupil progress.
- Help maintain a positive, engaging learning environment.
Required profile
- HLTA qualification or equivalent classroom experience.
- Previous experience in a UK primary school setting.
- Strong behaviour management abilities.
- Confidence to lead a classroom when required.
- Flexible, proactive attitude and willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS.
