Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Full‑Time)

About the role

We are partnering with a welcoming primary school in Haringey to recruit a confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant for the 2026/27 academic year. The role is full‑time, Monday to Friday, 08:30 am – 3:30 pm, paid on a PAYE basis.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality support across Reception to Year 6, adapting to the school’s needs.
• Cover whole classes in the teacher’s absence, delivering pre‑planned lessons confidently.
• Support classroom teaching, tailoring activities for pupils of varying abilities.
• Deliver targeted interventions and small‑group work to close learning gaps.
• Manage behaviour effectively to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate closely with teaching staff to ensure continuity and consistency.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an HLTA or in a similar role, with confidence covering classes.
• Experience across the full primary age range, including EYFS and KS2.
• Strong behaviour management skills and ability to engage pupils of different year groups.
• Proactive, flexible, and team‑focused attitude.
• Genuine passion for developing teaching practice and supporting pupil progress.
