About the role
Veritas Education is recruiting qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work across primary schools in Lancashire. The role involves supporting teachers during PPA release time and delivering targeted maths and literacy interventions for Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils.
Key responsibilities
- Cover whole classes during teacher release periods.
- Plan and deliver maths and literacy intervention schemes.
- Provide phonics support, including to EAL children.
- Cover sickness and work flexibly across both Key Stage 1 and 2.
Required profile
- Qualified HLTA Level 4 or above.
- Previous experience in primary schools, ideally across Key Stages 1 & 2.
- Ability to deliver engaging lessons with high expectations.
- Experience adapting to varied abilities and settings.
Required skills
- Extensive phonics knowledge.
- Ability to design and implement maths and literacy interventions.
