Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Primary) – September Start

About the role

Reed Education is recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for a thriving primary school in Bexley. The role starts in September 2026 and is full‑time, term‑time only. You will work closely with teachers and senior leaders to support high‑quality teaching and learning.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons when the class teacher is absent.
• Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Lead small‑group and one‑to‑one interventions.
• Assist with assessment and monitoring of pupil progress.
• Support pupils with diverse learning needs and abilities.
• Promote positive behaviour and maintain high expectations.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff and parents to achieve the best outcomes.

Required profile

• Hold HLTA status or have significant experience in a similar role.
• Recent experience in a primary school setting.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Confidence delivering lessons across different year groups.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Passion for supporting children academically and personally.
• Flexible, proactive and committed to inclusive education.
