Higher Level Teaching Assistant – SEND School (Full‑time)

About the role

Reeson Education is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist SEND school in the SK14 area. This full‑time, long‑term position supports pupils across KS2 and KS3, delivering pre‑planned lessons and providing personalised assistance to children with a range of additional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons for KS2 and KS3 when required.
• Confidently cover classes within a specialist SEND environment.
• Support pupils with autism, communication, sensory and learning difficulties to access learning.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and the multidisciplinary team.
• Adapt activities to meet individual pupil abilities.
• Build positive relationships through consistency, encouragement and patience.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an HLTA or in a similar classroom leadership role.
• Experience supporting children with SEND is highly desirable.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Flexible, resilient and able to adapt to changing pupil needs.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

• Hourly rate of £16.00 – £18.00 (PAYE or Umbrella).
