Higher Level Teaching Assistant – SEN/SEMH Support

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive SEN school in Enfield. The role starts in September 2026 and offers a full‑time, on‑site position supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver small‑group or one‑to‑one learning activities tailored to SEMH pupils.
• Assist teachers in adapting lesson plans to meet diverse emotional and academic needs.
• Collaborate with the SENCO, pastoral team and external agencies such as CAMHS and social services.
• Mentor and support other teaching assistants, sharing best practices.
• Participate in regular CPD, training and reflective practice focused on therapeutic and trauma‑informed education.

Required profile

• Significant experience supporting children with SEMH or SEND, preferably in a school or alternative provision.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Calm, proactive and empathetic approach to behaviour and learning support.
• Ability to work independently with small groups or individuals.
