Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Year 3 (Liverpool)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a North Liverpool primary school, supporting a Year 3 class. The role is full‑time and long‑term temporary, offering a daily rate of up to £120.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver PPA (Preparation, Planning and Assessment) lessons for Year 3, collaborating with class teachers.
• Provide short‑term cover across any year group when teachers are absent.
• Give verbal and written feedback on pupil progress and behaviour.
• Assess pupil work, adapt teaching methods to meet individual or group needs.
• Promote inclusion of pupils with SEN, including ASD and ADHD, through whole‑class teaching and targeted interventions.
• Maintain a safe, well‑organized learning environment and manage resources.

Required profile

• Experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant at Key Stage 2.
• Background working in SEN settings, particularly with ASD and ADHD.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a teaching team.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of PPA (Preparation, Planning and Assessment) processes.
• Understanding of inclusive teaching strategies for pupils with special educational needs.
