Highly Specialist Dietitian – Part Time (Band 7)

About the role

Join Cygnet Hospital Taunton as a Highly Specialist Dietitian on a part‑time basis, supporting a new 15‑bed neuro‑cognitive service for older adults with complex neurological and psychiatric conditions. You will work within an interdisciplinary team to improve patients' quality of life through tailored nutritional care.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive dietetic assessments for individuals referred to the service.
• Develop and implement personalised dietetic care plans, including meal plans and feeding regimens.
• Provide one‑to‑one advice, staff guidance, unit‑based clinics and group sessions as needed.
• Collaborate closely with the catering team, Speech and Language Therapy, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain a small active caseload while contributing to service development and quality improvement.

Required profile

• Registered Dietitian with HCPC registration and BDA membership.
• Degree or postgraduate diploma in Dietetics (or equivalent).
• Experience in neurology or mental health settings is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Enteral nutrition management.
• Clinical dietetic assessment and care planning.
