Highway Inspector

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Highway Inspector to join the team in Twickenham. You will be responsible for inspecting and assessing local road infrastructure, ensuring safety and compliance with legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct surveys and inspections of cycle routes, public paths and street furniture.
• Identify and report issues such as potholes, damaged kerbs, graffiti, fly‑tipping and litter.
• Work with local authorities to enforce standards and maintain the borough’s aesthetic.
• Review safety protocols and data collection systems to improve maintenance practices.
• Engage with stakeholders and the public to provide excellent customer service.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Previous experience in highway, utility, street work or construction inspections.
• Proven ability to produce detailed inspection reports.
• Knowledge of health and safety guidelines.

Required skills

• Surveying and inspection techniques.
• Report writing.
• Health & safety compliance.
• Familiarity with NRSWA or SWQR qualifications (desirable).
