Highway Maintenance Painters & Forklift Drivers – South Gloucestershire

About the role

We are recruiting experienced painters and forklift drivers to support an ongoing highway maintenance project at the Severn Bridge Maintenance Unit in South Gloucestershire. The roles are full‑time contractor positions working on a major infrastructure scheme.

Key responsibilities

• Apply industrial‑grade paint to bridges, road surfaces and related structures.
• Operate forklift safely to move materials, equipment and supplies around the site.
• Follow health, safety and environmental procedures at all times.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Collaborate with the site team to ensure project deadlines are met.

Required profile

• Valid CSCS Card and National Highways Passport.
• For painters: ICATS qualification or Train the Painter Gold certification.
• For forklift drivers: Valid Forklift Licence/Ticket.
• Must be PAYE and reside within 1.5 hours of the project location.
• Previous experience in industrial/infrastructure painting or construction‑related forklift operation is preferred.
