Hire Controller – Customer Service & Operations

About the role

The Hire Controller works from the depot in Leeds, acting as the frontline of sales and customer service. You will manage the full hire journey – from taking orders through to delivery, collection and after‑sales support – ensuring customers receive the right equipment on time.

Key responsibilities

• Take customer hire orders and coordinate delivery and collection schedules.
• Liaise with stock teams, drivers and engineers to minimise delays.
• Maintain accurate records of orders, equipment availability and customer communications.
• Support the depot’s ESG strategy and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide timely updates to customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.

Required profile

• Strong organisational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Adaptable with a commitment to learning and development.
• Valid driving licence.
• Previous experience in the hire industry or a similar sales/operational role.
• Willingness to support the business unit’s ESG objectives.
