Hire Controller – Equipment Rental Operations

About the role

We are looking for a full‑time Hire Controller to join our on‑site team in Wellingborough. You will manage the day‑to‑day hire operations for our access platform solutions, ensuring smooth communication with customers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process hire enquiries by phone and email.
• Prepare accurate hire quotations and convert them into confirmed orders.
• Coordinate delivery, collection and off‑hire of equipment with transport and operations teams.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records in the hire management system and verify equipment availability.
• Ensure all documentation is complete, compliant and stored correctly.
• Handle customer queries, resolve issues promptly and liaise with suppliers when needed.
• Provide general administrative and office support to the wider team.

Required profile

• Previous experience in hire control, plant hire, equipment rental or a similar coordination role.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, both phone and email.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Confidence using computer systems and office software.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with operations, transport and site teams, as well as independently.
• Reliable, punctual and safety‑conscious attitude.
