Hire Controller – Fixed Term (6 months) – Glasgow

About the role

The Hire Controller will work from Speedy’s Glasgow depot, acting as a key link between sales, operations and customers. You will manage the full hire cycle – from order entry to delivery, collection and after‑sales service – ensuring a smooth, timely experience for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Process hire orders and coordinate delivery and collection with stock teams, drivers and engineers.
• Maintain regular communication with customers to confirm requirements and resolve issues.
• Work closely with internal departments to minimise delays and optimise equipment availability.
• Support the depot’s ESG strategy and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong organisational and communication abilities, both written and verbal.
• Adaptable, with a commitment to learning and development.
• Valid driving licence.
• Previous experience in the hire industry or a similar sales/operational role.
• Willingness to support the business unit’s ESG objectives.
