Hire Controller – Front‑line Operations

About the role

The Hire Controller is a key member of Speedy’s depot team in Leeds, acting as the bridge between customers and internal departments to ensure a smooth hire experience from order to collection.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full hire process, from taking customer orders through to delivery and collection.
• Liaise daily with stock teams, drivers, engineers and other departments to minimise delays.
• Maintain accurate records and coordinate equipment availability.
• Provide front‑line sales and customer service support, building strong relationships with clients.

Required profile

• Strong organisational and communication abilities, both written and verbal.
• Adaptable, with a commitment to learning and development.
• Valid driving licence.
• Previous experience in the hire industry or a similar sales/operational role.
• Willingness to support the company’s ESG strategy.
