Hire Controller – Frontline Operations

About the role

The Hire Controller is a key member of Speedy’s depot team in Glasgow, responsible for managing the end‑to‑end hire process. Working from a desk, you will coordinate orders, deliveries and collections while ensuring a seamless experience for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process hire orders, confirming availability and scheduling delivery.
• Liaise with stock teams, drivers and engineers to minimise delays and optimise equipment utilisation.
• Maintain accurate records of hire contracts, deliveries, returns and invoicing.
• Provide timely updates to customers and resolve any service issues.
• Support the depot’s ESG strategy and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong organisational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Commitment to learning and personal development.
• Valid driving licence.
• Previous experience in the hire industry or a similar sales/operations role.

Required skills

• Driving licence (required for depot activities).
