About the role
We are seeking an experienced Hire Controller to join our team in Enfield. The successful candidate will support customer requirements for hire equipment, respond to enquiries and process orders professionally.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and chase quotations, providing technical specifications for machines.
- Liaise with customers on all hire, sales and service enquiries.
- Source equipment from third‑party suppliers to supplement the company fleet.
- Ensure supplier special terms are reflected on customer contracts for cross‑hire transactions.
- Raise sundry purchase orders and handle enquiries for powered access, forklifts, telehandlers and plant.
- Negotiate hire rates and prepare quotations.
Required profile
- Previous experience in a high‑volume hire desk role (desirable).
- Good knowledge of plant, machinery, small tools, lifting and safety equipment (desirable).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficient with MS Office.
