Hire Controller – Operations & Customer Service

About the role

Based at Speedy's London depot, the Hire Controller plays a pivotal role in the front‑line sales and customer‑service operation. You will manage the full hire cycle – from order entry through delivery and collection – ensuring customers receive the right equipment on time.

Key responsibilities

• Process hire orders and coordinate delivery, collection and invoicing.
• Liaise daily with stock teams, drivers, engineers and other departments to minimise delays.
• Maintain accurate records and update the system with order status.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing queries and ensuring satisfaction.
• Support the business unit in delivering Speedy’s ESG strategy.

Required profile

• Strong organisational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Adaptable, proactive and committed to learning.
• Valid driving licence.
• Previous experience in the hire industry or a similar sales/operational role.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
