Hire Controller – Operations & Customer Service

About the role

The Hire Controller is a pivotal member of Speedy’s depot team in Glasgow, ensuring smooth end‑to‑end hire operations. Working from a desk, you will coordinate orders, deliveries and collections while maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the complete hire process from order receipt to delivery and collection.
• Liaise daily with stock teams, drivers and engineers to minimise delays.
• Ensure customer requirements are met and service standards are upheld.
• Support the business unit in delivering Speedy’s ESG strategy.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate status updates to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Adaptable, with a commitment to continuous learning.
• Valid driving licence.
• Previous experience in the hire industry or a similar sales/operational role.
• Willingness to support ESG initiatives.
